Honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Jan 17 | 11am
Join us for a special, interfaith worship celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day featuring guest preacher and soloist Rev. Mia J. Douglas, a relationship-driven leader with a passion for strategic community building and creative transformation, Rabbi Guy Austrian and members of the Fort Tryon Jewish Center, and Sister Sunita Visnawath of Sadhana, a coalition of progressive Hindus and cofounder of Hindus for Human Rights.
Rev. Mia Douglas is the former Director of Discipleship at Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, Conn., where she successfully led a number of initiatives credited for broadening and deepening the church’s impact in its surrounding neighborhood and Greater Hartford. She is a classically trained recitalist, whose passion for music infuses her ministry, including her pulpit duties as a preacher, teacher and worship leader. Prior to joining Asylum Hill, she served as the associate pastor at the historic Faith Congregational Church, also in Hartford.
After worship service, join Rev. Mia J. Douglas in a Sermon Talk Back.
