Join us for a very special concert co-led by the music directors of West End and Fort Washington Collegiate Churches — two afternoons of extraordinary classic music and poetry shared by members of our communities. Organist Henry Lee presents the first movement from Widor’s 6th organ symphony filled with arresting and dazzling melodies for hands and feet. Conductor Chris Whittaker leads his merry band of uptown strings in music by Elgar, Mozart, and Hanna Benn. Finally, the Collegiate maestros come together for Poulenc’s Organ Concerto which traces the composer’s own religious rediscovery, following the death of his friend.
