CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Do you have a child who loves to sing?

FWCC is thrilled to announce the formation of a new children’s choir! Enrollment will be open to all children ages 6-12. Rehearsals will take place on Sunday mornings from 10:00AM to 10:30AM in the Worship Arts Room. The choir will prepare to perform in service for our special Youth Sunday on December 15th!

The children’s choir is be led by FWCC member, soprano Julia Lamon. In addition to learning repertoire for performance, Ms. Lamon is committed to sharing a Children’s Choir curriculum that incorporates love and excitement for God, healthy singing techniques, vocal expression and basic music theory.

Julia Lamon is an Opera Singer, private voice and piano instructor with 5 years of Private Studio instruction experience and credentials in Music Education. Julia performs in operas and music festivals across the U.S. and Mexico, and also serves as Administrative Director for an international opera festival. Julia comes to FWCC with over 20 years of experience serving the Church through music and worship. Raised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Choral tradition, she has led children, adult and bell choirs. Originally from Minnesota, Julia completed a Bachelor of Music from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music. Julia resides in Washington Heights with her husband and two children.
