The Fridge at the Fort

The Fridge will be 3 this year!

Did you know that March is the Fort Fridge's birthday month? We opened for the very first time on March 28, 2021. We are 3 years old and we continue to need your support in helping to serve the community. Bilingual/Spanish speakers are needed to help maintain orderly food distribution.

Recently at the fridge, we began working with a new community partner, Bo’s Bagels on 155th Street!  (Um, yum.) They will generously be donating delicious bagels to the fridge three times a week on weekday evenings.

If you’re interested in volunteering with this new opportunity, let us know by sending us an email with “Bagel Volunteer” in the subject line. It’s a quick and easy way to serve your community.

Located on the Northeast Corner of 181st St and Fort Washington Avenue

This fridge is a joint effort of members of Fort Washington Collegiate Church and the surrounding community. We believe that food is a human right, and that by organizing together we can ensure that no-one in our community has to go hungry.

The Fridge at The Fort is part of the Bronx/Upper Manhattan Mutual Aid Network. Visit our sister fridges at https://nycfridge.com.
